in School programs
Movement, Self-Awareness, & Empowerment Circle of Life staff know how important it is for kids and teachers to MOVE and how challenging it is to do so in a classroom setting. Our staff also understand many of the challenges that teachers and students face in regards to self-regulation, de-stressing, and focusing skills. These courses are designed to develop simple, effective in-class tools for any age that support all aspects of learning and lead to empowerment of each person so that the classroom setting has a more joyful, productive, and safe atmosphere.
Coming of Age Courses offer the opportunity for school staff to 'give the reins' to outside professionals in order to develop and support modern sex-education and health & wellness standards in the schools. Circle of Life curriculum is focused on providing valuable, accurate information in a way that demystifies peer-to-peer information, developing respect for one-another's changing bodies, and re-enlivening a sense of responsibility and honor for one's personal choices.
Group Dynamics Curriculum is based on the idea that experiences in the school or classroom social millieau will directly impact the manner in which individuals interact with and impact society. Group dynamics curriculum hones effective and respectful communication skills; self-identifies equitable group norms; supports the establishment and integration of policies and procedures; and clarifies the value of self and group reflection strategies through direct experiences. This curriculum is applicable and adaptable for school staff and classrooms grade 3rd and higher and is most effective when applied school-wide.
School & Community Service Courses are designed to support school culture by educating students about the power of school-based initiatives and community involvement. Students study already-established school and community programs such as Garden to Cafeteria and Big Brother, Big Sister and explore needs within their own communities. Through service-based curriculum, students identify resource procurement procedures and action steps in order to institute group-designed initiatives that make their school environments and neighborhoods better places to grow and live.
