AGES Homeschool courses are designed with your group in mind and serve ages 4-18.
CURRICULAR STANDARDS  A wide range of curriculum is offered through the Circle of Life Homeschool.  The core intentions and components of Circle of Life exist in Homeschool groups and can be applied to the specific needs, ages, and goals of a group.  The  main component is to create and learn within a larger community.  Depending on the content covered in a homeschool group, students can receive credit in specific curricular standard areas which are adapted to the basic rhythm of all homeschool courses.

Curricular Standards Include but are not limited to:
  • Science -- botany, zoology, earth sciences & human biology
  • Math -- done experientially, with movement, and artistic expression; begins with student skill base
  • Social Studies -- historical, mythological, & biographical
  • Language Arts -- various forms of literary exposure; development of powerful written and verbal expression
  • Health, Art, Music, & Elective Courses -- can be developed and integrated into homeschool curriculums as well.

** Many standards can be met through pairing after school courses with homeschool group experiences.**

RHYTHM OF COURSES   Whereas the typical components and rhythm of a homeschool session remain the same, the main focus, in terms of curriculum, will change depending on the length, duration, ages of participants, and focus of the session. The following is an outline of the structure for a basic homeschool session.

Basic Homeschool Session
Nature-Oriented Experience -- group games, walk, etc.
Movement, Voice Work, & Music -- related to focus
Reflection, Artistic & Will work -- related to content
Story -- to prepare for upcoming study
Excursions -- woven into curriculum as applicable
Theatre -- integrated to boost the experience

Extensions to the Standards  When possible, Circle of Life has other instructors share their talents and insights within a homeschool curriculum.  Topics for these extensions and relationships include instrumental instruction, language development, and specific areas of study such as welding or bicycle maintenance.  Extensions often naturally integrate into the courses and can be requested in order to bring a deeper focus of skills to any homeschool session.
